KEEP TO THE RIGHT ON STAIRS AND IN THE HALLS. KEEP CANDY, GUM AND ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTS AT HOME. The School’s Code of Conduct should be posted and taught on a daily basis. It should be visible, understood by students and parents, and should be implemented. Courtesy is the core in dealing with students. Do not criticize or be sarcastic with any student. Politeness should be modelled by the classroom leader and expected from each student. Corporal punishment is prohibited in "all" schools; it is a directive from the Superintendent. This includes pinching, spanking and pulling students hair. Following are some definitions to keep in mind when writing your classroom rules, procedures, routines, and discipline plan: Code of Conduct – statements designed to prevent or encourage specific behavior. Procedures – A method or process for how things are done in the classroom (entering and leaving the room, lining up, using the pencil sharpener, disposing of garbage etc.). Routines – An action done by the student without prompting or supervision (fire drills, walking in the halls at all times, travel to the lavatory, transitions from one subject to another, prepare for listening, etc.) Discipline Plan – establishes penalties and rewards for student behaviors. The following is the school’s "Code of Conduct":
