Introduction Buffalo City School District (BCSD) presents this comprehensive three-year District Technology Plan to support the goals, policies and standards of the BCSD Board of Education.
The document also addresses the federal technology goals and objectives of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), the Universal Services Telecommunications Act (E-Rate), the National Education Technology Standards (NETS), the New York State’s Learning Standards, and BCSD’s Academic Achievement Plan.
The plan is an ongoing, fluid document incorporating input and feedback from multiple stakeholders, from the national, state, district, school, university, parent, and community levels.
History BCSD’s 2008-2011 Technology Plan is an enhancement of the Technology Plan dated July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008. BCSD has been, and continues to be, in an organizational and operational transition period, due to a systemic and progressive ten-year Joint Schools Construction Board (JSCB) Reconstruction initiative that began in 2004.
Mission Statement BCSD’s Mission is To ensure that every student will have the confidence, knowledge, thinking skills, character and hope to assume responsibility for her/his life and contribute to the lives of others. We will champion excellence and innovative learning experiences in partnership with family and community. We will hold ourselves accountable for educating our students and for working to energize all members of the community to actively participate in the accomplishment of our mission.
