| Will teachers need to calculate the final average manually in eSIS?
- No, (for all schools except City Honors) eSIS will programmatically calculate the final average based on the numerical marking period grades.
- If for some reason a student did not receive a grade in one marking period or received an alpha grade instead of a numeric grade by mistake, eSIS will calculate the final average based on the remaining numerical marking period grades.
- The Regents exam score stands alone and does not get included into the final average.
When does the Mark Reporting window close? Is there a specific time? Click on the Mark Reporting Web Module to access the remaining Mark Reporting calendar.
How do I add Comments to eSIS? Report card comments should be sent to the Curriculum Department for review, and approval. Once approved by Curriculum, report card comments will be added to eSIS.
Is there a character limit on report card comments? Yes, 80 characters including spaces.
Will all report cards be mailed? Yes, unless specified by building administration. Should schools request to forgo the mailing process, please contact the eSIS Help Desk via email to coordinate report card pick-up.
Will schools receive copies of the report card? Schools will receive an electronic report card .pdf file via email. This will enable all schools to print as many report card copies as needed, and will also enable schools to archive student report cards locally within the school.
Can teacher made exam scores be recorded in the exam column in Mark Entry? No. The Exam Column in the Mark Entry screen is designated for Regents exam scores only . Refer to the Mark Reporting step-by-step procedures and Mark Entry video for details.
I need to add a class to a student's schedule. Who do I contact regarding scheduling changes? School schedulers who attended scheduling training should be able to perform this function. Please contact building administration for the name/s of the school scheduler/s.
Entering grades in eSIS has been slow throughout during Mark Reporting. Why? Increased end user traffic during mark reporting peak periods may impact eSIS (a little). However, should end users experience a significant drop in eSIS performance, please contact the eSIS Help Desk at x4699 immediately.
Teachers can access eSIS solely at school thereby limiting their time to enter grades. Why? Accessibility to eSIS from home is a priority and research is being implemented to make this a reality for all end users. For now, the #1 goal is to improve network security for major web based applications. Please be aware that VPN access is available to designated School Schedulers, and building administrators have received communication on how to acquire VPN access for their staff. During mark reporting week, please contact the mark reporting coordinator for lab times and availability.
After students have received grades, how do I print out class reports? Refer to the Class List w/Marks procedures.
How do I check to see if all students received a grade? (a.k.a Verification Report) Refer to the Students Missing Marks procedures.
