'Discovering Buffalo' in Week 2 of Art Camp

|
Week 2 of the Art Day Camp Summer Enrichment Program (ADCSEP) was full of excitement for our campers. This week's camp theme, "Discovering Buffalo", counselors shared their knowledge of the City of Buffalo and the great art and artists that have come through this area.
Our youngest group (5-6 years olds) learned about Frank Lloyd Wright and stained glass designs and our 9-10 year old group created miniature sculptures of buffaloes, similar to the fiberglass buffalo sculpture movement that decorated our city a few years ago.
All campers were treated to a field trip to the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, where they learned a great deal about local artists and their work and installations.
The biggest surprise of the week was when Channel 2 visited ADCSEP to tape a short segment of the program's success.
