Due to anticipated overnight snowfall and extremely high winds, and in consideration of the Governor's State of Emergency, the Buffalo Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, December 12, 2024. All students and staff are to stay home and to be safe.

Riverside Academy High School PS 208 was scheduled to have a day of remote learning on Thursday, December 12, due to maintenance of its heating system, however due to the district’s closure Riverside will now be completely closed as will the rest of the district. No remote teaching or learning for Riverside students or staff will take place.

As schools in New York State, including the Buffalo Public Schools, are required to be in session for 180 days per school year, if additional days of closure are necessary, the district may decide to pivot to remote learning later this school year when and if all of its snow days are used. During remote learning, students and staff would be instructed to stay home, and remote instruction would start at the beginning of the school day. If remote learning becomes necessary, all students and families should be prepared to connect remotely with their teachers using their school-issued devices through Schoology, Clever, Teams or to complete independent work.
