The University of Buffalo obtained grant funding to implement a rigorous program in collaboration with Buffalo Schools. UB’s Teacher Residency Program incorporates a collaborative approach to teaching and learning that is different from traditional internship programs! The UB Teacher Residency Program utilizes a coteaching model that pairs highly qualified veteran teachers with UB graduate students. These teacher residents coteach alongside the mentor teacher the full school year, while taking related coursework, enabling them to graduate with an understanding of the full scope of teaching. Candidates who successfully meet all program requirements graduate with a Master’s Degree and NYS Teacher Certification! Our goal is to increase and sustain a diverse number of learner-ready teachers! Together the UB/BPS partnership has a placement rate of 100%!
