Greetings Parents and Caregivers of Native American Magnet #19 (NAM#19) & Buffalo Public Schools (BPS):
One behalf of Native American Magnet #19, we are pleased to welcome your student(s) back to what will prove to be a wonderful and safe school year! We know that you have endured so much and continue to ensure your trust within the NAM #19 school community. Rest assured, we will uphold our part of the Education Bargain, continue to ensure a strong focus on the Five By 25 goals outlined by the Superintendent of Buffalo Public Schools, Dr. Tonja Williams Knight, and provide your student(s) with the opportunity for an equitable high-quality education with culturally relevant practices, materials and access to restorative supportive services.
As you may be aware, the Superintendent of Buffalo Public Schools (BPS), Dr. Tonja Williams Knight, continues her mission of implementing "knowledge-infused love instructional teaching" for all our children as well as for one another. “We must love the children before we can teach them.” At Native American Magnet #19 our mission strives for students to achieve their highest potential academically, ethically, and socially. Collaboration with the community creates a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment which develops contributing members of a diverse society.
As we all know, students who are in school daily, nourished, loved and excited to learn and are reading at or above grade level succeed significantly better in all content areas. My staff and I want to ensure you that academic achievement encompassed with a nurturing environment will continue to be provided at extraordinary levels at Native American Magnet #19.
Please continue to follow your student(s) teacher on ClassDojo for up-to-date information as well as the District website at Buffaloschools.org for continued information on District events, school closings and educational & social emotional resources that can be used at home.
As always, Stay Well. Stay Safe. Stay Positive. I look forward to seeing you soon and please know that safety of your student(s) is my priority.
Educationally,
Mr. Michael A. Suwala, Principal
