We will have a series of projects during our after school program where “Gardeners” will learn the basics of planting, harvesting, arranging, care, and gardening. The intention of this series is to better connect children with their food and community, and introduce them to the lifestyle of gardening. ELA will be infused through student read instructions and garden based vocabulary. Math will be infused through the measurement of time, soil levels, and temperature. Furthermore, Gardeners will be given the opportunity to take home the “fruits of their labor” and share it with their family and friends.
