Hutchinson Central Technical High School
The curriculum has been revamped and expanded continuously for entrance into schools of engineering and or the training of technicians for entry-level positions in current technical fields.
The programs the school now offers includes bio-chemical technology, computer technology, and engineering technology (electrical, mechanical, and architectural). Instruction in electricity and electronics is also provided. Students have the opportunity to earn a Career and Technical Education (CTE) designation on their diplomas.
Hutch-Tech also offers an extensive selection of college prep courses, including Advanced Placement. The courses include AP English Comp, AP English Lit, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP United States History, AP World History, AP Physics, AP Environmental Science, AP Seminar, and AP Capstone. Students have the opportunity at Hutch Tech to earn an AP Diploma.
The majority of students at Tech earn a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation. Extended learning time is offered before and after school through our Tech Success Program.
The school offers 25 clubs and all major sports per season. Students in grades 8 and 9 are eligible to take an entrance exam for admission. Tech accepts approximately 300 students to grade 9 each year. Our total school population is approximately 1260 students.
