BPS celebrates Black History Month by recognizing this day in 1865, Henry Highland Garnet delivered an address to Congress, becoming the first African American to speak in the U.S. Capitol. We honors his legacy and leadership, as his powerful call for the abolition of slavery marked a historic moment in the fight for freedom and equality.
