Mrs. Kira Mioducki, Program Coordinator
Mrs. Mioducki supports the Research Lab Program in numerous aspects including grant management, partner outreach, scheduling activities, and helping to assure the program meets and exceeds expectations for students, faculty, parents and community partners. Research has always maintained a strong presence in her background whether as a Biology major at Canisius College, researching gene expression in plants and migratory patterns of birds or when she earned her Master’s in Science Education from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2005, investigating science content in children’s cartoons and presenting a collaborative inquiry project on authentic connections in the classroom. Since joining the Buffalo Public Schools in 2005, Mrs. Mioducki has worked to move beyond the classroom with her students in studying science. Her students have investigated the ecology of the Great Lakes watershed with Buffalo Urban Outdoor Education, worked with PUSH Buffalo to create and sustain a community garden and investigated water quality through Earthforce Green, partnering with General Motors. When she is not busy dreaming up the next plan for the Research Lab Program, Mrs. Mioducki loves spending quality time with her growing family.
