Ms. Nicole Marabella, Science

Email Ms. Nicole Marabella

Ms. Marabella is a Chemistry and Physics teacher in the Research Lab Program.  She earned a Bachelors degree in Biology from Ithaca College in 1995.  After college, she completed an internship in Gödöllő , Hungary on transgenic tobacco plants.  When she returned to the United States, she earned her Masters degree in Experimental Pathology from the Roswell Park Program at the University of Buffalo in 1998.  While at U.B., she researched the treatment of oral cancers with PDT (photodynamic therapy).  Realizing that research was not the path she wanted, she went back to D’Youville College to earn her Teaching Certification.

She has been teaching in the Buffalo City School District for 22 years.  She enjoys inspiring students to find the science in their lives and in the world around them.  Science is not made up of abstract facts, but instead is something that is applicable to them on a daily basis.  Ms. Marabella accomplishes this through hands on lab work in chemistry and playing with toys in physics.  When not teaching, she enjoys gardening, golfing, and doing crossword puzzles.
